Tempura for Lunch
For lunch, enjoy the Japanese cuisine of freshly made tempura!Enjoy the rich aroma and light crispy consistency of tempura cooked with the finest oil and fresh ingredients!

Gansho-in Temple
Hokusai Katsushika (1760-1849) was a Japanese ukiyo-e master whose works at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868) greatly influenced French impressionist artists. Hokusai was invited to the town of Obuse by local merchant Kozan Takai and completed the masterpiece of Gansho-in Temple known as ‘The Phoenix Staring in Eight Directions’, at the age of 88! The beauty of the gold leaves and abundance of other vibrant colors used in this large-scale ceiling painting is enough to overwhelm you.

Zenko-ji Temple
Built approximately 1,400 years ago in Nagano, Zenko-ji Temple is quite unique compared to other temples in the fact that it has never belonged to any particular sect of Buddhism. One of the main attractions is the tunnel known as “Okaidan Meguri”’ which runs under the temple’s main hall. It is said that if, whilst making your way through the pitch black corridor, you can find and lay your hands on the padlock known as “the key to the Land of Happiness” you are promised a long life in this world and will enter the Land of Happiness in the afterlife.

Gokayama
Gokayama is a district in Toyama Prefecture that includes the villages of Suganuma and Ainokura. This district is home to gasssho-zukuri houses. These houses have a unique style of architecture with very steep thatched rooves. They can only be found in Gokayama and Shirakawago and were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The name gassho-zukuri refers to the shape of the rooves. Gassho means hands clasped together in prayer. A total of 32 of these gassho-zukuri houses remain in Gokayama. With Authentrip, you can view these unique houses which were built between 300 and 400 years ago. You can even enter the roof space and take a look at the roof structure up close! The contrast between the gassho-zukuri houses and the rice paddies, fields, and surrounding mountains make a beautiful picture and it will feel like you have traveled back in time.

Kenrokuen
The majestic garden has all six characteristics (referred to as the 'Six Elements') that a great garden should have: spaciousness, seclusion, artificiality, antiquity, abundant water, and broad views. It is difficult to walk around to see every corner of a garden as vast as Kenrokuen, but seeing each of the Six Elements represented at Kenrokuen is easy. Kenrokuen can be enjoyed in all four seasons, with cherry blossoms in the spring, rhododendrons and moss in the summer, red and yellow foliage in the fall, and yukitsuri (rope supports to protect tree branches from snow) in the winter.

Meeting a Maiko (Geisha Apprentice)
This tour includes a once in a lifetime chance to spend time in the presence of a geisha’s apprentice. They are called maiko and they undergo strict training in traditional Japanese arts such as music, communication skills, and dance. Even people who live in Kyoto rarely get a chance to see a real maiko. This is your chance to meet one and hear her charming Kyoto dialect. Would you like to see a maiko perform a traditional dance as you enjoy delicious Kyoto cuisine? You can even take pictures with her to remember your experience.

Kyoto- Free Day
We will hand you an one-day free pass for the Kyoto City Bus. Kyoto has many sites to discover, such as Gion and Kiyomizu Temple in Higashiyama-ku and many more in Arashiyama-ku as well. Nishiki Market is filled with traditional charm, and is a recommended spot for cuisine enthusiasts and visitors looking for souvenirs. We can also offer you a lunch boat cruise, while looking out on the seasonal scenery of Arashiyama.

Koya san (Konpon Daito)
The highlight of the Danjo Garan, at the heart of Koya-san, is the Konpon Daito. Built as a center for the study of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, it has been a holy site for approximately 1,200 years.
Koya san (Okunoin)
Okunoin is the sacred area, where Kobo Daishi (known as Kukai) is believed to have entered eternal meditation. You can discover the mystical atmosphere along the path leading up the mausoleum, with over 200,000 grave stones of historical figures such as Maeda Toshinaga, along with the graves of corporate companies like Panasonic are spread between cedars aged hundreds of years old.
